This is a quite entertaining look at how shoring and trenching operations often flirt with disaster. Included in the content is information on soil types, angles of repose, and benching theory.

This program finds the "Trenching Devil" paying a visit to a crew. His job has always been to help workers cause accidents and he's a bit angry because they seem to be doing everything correctly. Don't worry, his anger will cause him to "spill the beans" on how he does his job.

"Shoring and Trenching" looks at every aspect of how to properly trench and shore the site. Equipment and procedures are covered including the use of air shores and mechanical shores as well as shoring construction and lots of safety procedures.

The "Trenching Devil" might win in the end because a careless worker was digging in a trench when a wall gave way pinning him beneath the dirt. The ending of the program dramatically points out why it is a matter of life or death to be extra careful in and around a trench.
